The REACH Delivery Application Program Interface (API) provides a standardised programmatic connection that enables third party software to interact directly with the REACH Delivery service. The API comprises the series of routines, protocols, tools and documentation, as required by any external software supplier to establish the automated interaction between REACH Delivery and their own software.
 Specifically, it will help suppliers of Safety Data Sheet Production systems, REACH Compliance solutions, Document Management Systems and Customer Management Systems to provide their clients with a seamless interface to REACH Delivery.
It will allow their clients to deliver published documents and other content (held or produced in other systems) to their own clients, staff or end users within a guaranteed, controlled and audited environment.
It will also extend the capability of the systems to support extended storage and information access requirements, both internally and externally.
The interface has been designed to be as simple as possible to use, and to implement in an existing IT structure. All access is via DLL calls. It does not require a large implementation or development
project. For those organisations that have already invested in sophisticated Document and Customer management systems for their SDS production or storage, Reach Delivery provides a simple, efficient and cost effective method of extending (not replacing) the existing systems to achieve compliance in respect of Safety Data Sheet delivery which email, post and web site access can not.
REACH Delivery is a purpose built solution that provides an industry wide delivery and document control service for manufacturers, importers, distributors and downstream users. It supports the document delivery, receipt, control, update, audit and tracking requirements as set out as part of the REACH regulations.
The system has at its core, a secure, internet-based communication gateway, which links directly between all companies subject to REACH regulations, and the company’s customers and suppliers. In addition, the service is able to demonstrate compliance and reduce the risk of enforcement and legal action.
